The BD-P1500 is Samsung's 4th generation Blu-Ray DVD Player. Its high gloss, piano black case stands out in any equipment stand. Whilst dedicated Blu-Ray DVD Player haven't reached low prices yet, the BD-P1500 is Samsung's least expensive to date.

The BD-P1500 plays Blu-ray discs, standard DVDs as well as CDs. It upscales DVDs to 720p, 1080i, or 1080p resolutions. If your display supports it, the Blu-Ray DVD Player can output 1080p/24 via HDMI for enhanced picture quality, particularly the fast motion movie sequences.

There's a lot to like about the BD-P1500, even though it's been brought to market without BD-Live and DTS-HD MA decoding. Had Samsung included these featuresin the BD-P1500, it would be easy to give this Blu-Ray DVD Player an un-equivocal thumbs up. It does still have some key features over the PS3 though, namely its ability to send the loss-less audio codecs as bitstreams and to de-interlace 1080i resolution.

Blu-Ray DVD Player proably haven't become must haves yet, but now that the format war is over, we should be getting more choice which can only bring prices down further. However, how soon we'll see a glut of Blu-Ray DVD Player in the market isn't clear. So, if you've been waiting for a dedicated player that isn't too expensive then the Samsung BD-P1500 is one of the best options at this moment in time.
